Job Details:
We are seeking an Associate Scientist II to become a part of the bioanalytical science group supporting clinical and pre-clinical PK/PD studies. The primary function of the person will be the development and validation/qualification of quantitative mass spectrometry assays to support pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic analyses in biological matrices, such as whole blood, sputum, serum and/or plasma.

This Associate Scientist II will be responsible for bio-analytical sample analysis in support of non-clinical and clinical studies. She/he will utilize mass spectrometry for detection and quantification of therapeutic peptides and antibodies, including ADCs. The Associate Scientist will prepare Standard Operating Procedures, validation protocols, and bioanalytical reports. The ideal candidate will demonstrate creativity in troubleshooting, optimization and implementation of challenging and innovative LC/MS/MS assays.

Required Skills:
Strong background in analytical biochemistry/chemistry with emphasis on mass spectrometry of biotherapeutics (peptides, naked antibodies, ADCs).
The Associate Scientist II is expected to perform duties with minimal supervision. The appropriate candidate should have the ability to carry out complex projects and multi-task.
Hands-on experience with chromatographic separation of proteins and peptides by LC and characterization and quantification by MS or MS/MS is essential.
Knowledge of LC/MS/MS assay validation guidelines and GLP regulations are a strong plus
Proficiency with mass spectrometry software (in particular AB Sciex Analyst, Mass Quant, Peak View, Protein Pilot, etc.) as well as spreadsheet, word processing, and graphical computer programs (MS EXCEL, MS WORD, GraphPad Prism, for example) is required.
Experience in characterization of protein post-translational modifications by mass spectrometry will be beneficial.
Small molecule mass spectrometry experience is a plus.
Significant experience in method development and troubleshooting.
Experience working with biological matrices such as serum, plasma, etc. a plus.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in biological sciences, chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences or related discipline.
Strong preference will be given to those with industry experience.
