Staff Software Engineer - Front-end/Full-stack
We have an immediate contract opportunity with a large F500 client in the Mountain View, CA area.
Responsibilities & Role:
oArchitecting and developing web, software, mobile apps, prototypes, or proofs of concepts (POC's)
oLeading the gathering of functional requirements, developing technical specifications, and project & test planning
oActing as the technical subject matter expert: Mentoring fellow engineers, demonstrating technical expertise, and leading a small team solving challenging programming and design problems
oRoughly 40-60% hands-on coding (JavaScript, Java, HTML5, CSS)
oGenerate technical documentation and PowerPoint presentations to communicate architectural and design options, and educate development teams and business users
oResolve defects/bugs during QA testing, pre-production, production, and post-release patches
oWork cross-functionally with various Intuit teams including: product management, QA/QE, various product lines, and/or business units to drive forward results
oDemonstrate a passion for developing well architected, elegant, web and/or mobile apps
oExperience with Agile Development, SCRUM, or Extreme Programming methodologies
Qualifications
o8 years experience developing web, software, or mobile applications
oBS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience
oStrong experience with Object Oriented Development (OOD) and Java.
oExperience with the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
o3 years experience with web services (consuming or creating) with REST or SOAP
oSolid communication skills: Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences
oStrong understanding of the Software design/architecture process
oExperience with unit testing & Test Driven Development (TDD)
oExperience developing, maintaining, and innovating large scale, consumer facing web or mobile applications
oExperience with social, mobile, Cloud/SaaS, data structures
oFamiliar with the development challenges inherent with highly scalable and available web applications
oAlways Be Learning: Experience with open source technologies (if no practical work experience w/ Big Data, or cutting edge front-end technology, you're prototyping and/or researching the up and coming technology and solutions
oExperience with various, modern web frameworks
