Summary:
Responsible for conducting outreach and case management services to people residing in their vehicles in designated safe parking lots.
Providing intensive housing search and case management services to low-income individuals, families, and seniors to help them secure habitable housing.
Collaborate with a diverse cross functional team to evaluate client case goals and express the needs of the safe parking program and participants.
Essentials Duties and
Responsibilities:
Provide outreach to vehicle dwellers, housing search and case management to individuals and families, which includes the development of housing search case plan to include housing search assistance, assistance with move-in costs such as first month's rent, assistance with housing applications, education about lease contracts and client rights and responsibilities.
Responsible for advocacy on behalf of the client, and follow-up to ensure housing stability and progress toward self-sufficiency.
Collaborate with operations staff at the safe parking sites to most effectively reach people living in their vehicles and coordinate care, which may include working occasionally on weekends.
Provide safety-net services, which includes, but not limited to, linking clients to benefits and supportive services such as Cal-Fresh, SSI, GA, employment services, financial education, mental health, addiction services and legal assistance.
Track safe parking participants information and progress in databases and as needed in Excel.
Maintain accurate and timely case record documentation.
Maintain program statistics in databases on an ongoing basis.
Maintain client case records to ensure compliance with funders regulations.
Perform other related duties, responsibilities and special projects as assigned by the Program Director.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Master's Degree in Social Work.
Experience working with unhoused population preferred.
Ability to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, manage priorities and workflow, while maintaining a positive, patient and calm demeanor, and establishing a positive team spirit with colleagues.
Excellent interpersonal, listening, and negotiating skills.
The ability to build and maintain professional relationships internally and externally with a diverse range of people and the ability to respond appropriately to sensitive and/or confidential information and requests.
Must possess outstanding verbal and written English business communication skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
Ability to exercise good judgement, take initiative and make diligent, thoughtful, independent, and timely decisions.
Ability to work effectively in a cross functional team setting.
Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and client database programs required.
Available to work some evenings and weekends, as required.
Must have favorable background investigation, such as criminal record and motor vehicle report.
Possess a valid California Driver's License, automobile, and automobile insurance.
Ability to plan, prioritize and organize work.
Ability to be self-motivated and learn quickly.
Work environment and Physical Demands:
Work is performed primarily in an outside environment and the employee in this position is subject to outdoor environment conditions.
There will be office access, but will be required to travel between two office locations.
Will need appropriate clothing attire for the weather.
May be required to lift up to 40 lbs.
Required sitting 40% of time, when in office.
Required standing 50%, or more depending on Travel by car for this position includes travel independently or as part of a small group 10% of a business day.
Also, travel by car may include attending meetings representing the agency.
Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel or crouch.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
