We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organized Marketing Event Manager to produce customer experiences through proprietary events and sponsored tradeshows from conception through completion. This events pro is a thorough, analytical and technically capable marketing professional who can work cross-functionally in the development and management of event programs. This person understands how to build interactive event experiences that lead to customer acceleration and expansion with Elastic. The ability to multitask and prioritize are essential, as this role involves overseeing multiple event planning cycles at one time. This person will be responsible for leading all event marketing plans, logistics, project deliverables, activities and marketing communications for a series of diverse events throughout the year. Job
Responsibilities:
Deeply understand the markets and latest trends from an event experience perspective. Know the key events that our target segments are attending and stay abreast of what competitors are doing. Use these insights to creatively design and optimize the event program globally. Lead the planning and manage execution of customer events to ensure goals and audience expectations are always exceeded and the Elastic brand is well represented. Drive economies of scale across events and resources that can be extended across multiple events. Partner closely with other event managers and business peers to ensure cross-functional alignment on event goals and target outcomes. Effectively collaborate with Field Marketers, Sales Teams and Marketing specialists for event messaging, content, curriculum, sessions, speakers, etc. to ensure a compelling story is presented and that it engages our key target audience. Manage the end-to-end event execution in the market including registrations, vendor relationships, SME/speaker presentations, internal/external event communications, venue and/or digital space, sponsorship, show-floor expo, budget and procurement, compliance and follow-up plan to ensure that the event strategy and plan is executed with the highest of standards, within event brand guidelines and that it leads to KPI attainment. Lead onsite presence which could include ensuring proper set-up and signage, registration coordination and troubleshooting, AV testing, speaker and meeting management, staff enablement and training, collateral and swag distribution, problem-solving and managing take-down. Maintain a network of partners to assist with various aspects of event management, including venue sourcing, production, branding and onsite logistics. Track ROI, engagement and audience feedback to measure results, assess opportunities for improvement and optimize future events. Strong communication skills, and the ability to present event ideas and plans to stakeholders and leadership as well as strong leadership, interpersonal and problem solving skills. Commitment to the mission, vision, cultural values, and expectations of Elastic Availability to travel and work occasional nights and weekends to support events. Potential travel up to 50%. Basic Qualifications 5-7 years of relevant work experience in event marketing. Experience in marketing B2B technology products or services preferred. Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or relevant field of study. Sales skills and an aptitude for building productive business relationships. Demonstrated success in event management and project management. A willingness to travel and ability to work independently and autonomously. Superior oral and written communication skills with an innate attention to detail.
