Position Summary Samsung Electronics America is recruiting for a Director, Strategic Partner Management to join the North American Games Business Development team. The Director, Strategic Partner Management will lead a team that is the face of Samsung to some of our most important gaming partners and participate in shaping the direction of the Samsung Galaxy Store globally. In this position, you will lead the team that builds and manages relationships with games partners, with responsibility for growing Samsung's content and services business and making sure partners are leveraging Samsung's full platform capabilities, including user acquisition, marketing, merchandising and distribution. You will need to have a deep understanding of the mobile gaming landscape, games and platform trends, and evolving business models, including cloud gaming, subscription models, F2P, Blockchain, real-money gaming, IAP and ad monetization. You will also need a keen sense of product awareness to articulate platform value and represent product requirements. Exceptional leadership and relationship-building skills, plus the ability to dive deeply into both business and technical issues will be critical to success in this role. The ideal candidate will have years of team management experience, excellent communication skills, as well as a strong analytical bent and the ability to navigate and embrace complexity. While also managing some day-to-day partner relationships, the candidate will need to be able to see the big picture while remaining detail oriented. S/he will demonstrate a mastery of verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to lead meetings, drive presentations, represent Samsung to all levels of partner organizations. The Director, Strategic Partner Management must be a self-starter and will need be comfortable in a fast-paced environment, take the initiative, manage multiple partners, and work under tight timeframes. They must also be able and willing to help guide the operational direction of the Games Partner Management team Samsung's Galaxy Store is a leading destination for today's top mobile games for download or instant play, and is available on all of the 1B Samsung devices distributed around the world. The Strategic Partner team is responsible for ensuring our managed partners' seamless integration to the platform, maximizing their promotion and growing their business within the Galaxy Store.Role and Responsibilities Manage a small team of Strategic Partner Managers while taking on some Individual Contributor responsibilities, including but not limited to managing some partners directly Shape the future roles and responsibilities, including Objectives and Key Results, of the Gaming Strategic Partner Manager role at Samsung across multiple gaming platforms Ensure onboarding of new gaming partners while maximizing pre-launch and launch activities, and setting up developer/publishers for scalable and long lifecycles on Galaxy Store Develop highly effective, deep relationships with key partners. Provide oversight of day-to-day management of partner relationships with a focus on growth activities Drive thought leadership on the evolving mobile games space and advocate across the organization on behalf of partners and opportunities Work cross-functionally across marketing, business, product, operations, legal and other parts of the organization (including Korea HQ) to develop and execute business strategy Expand partnerships through agreement amendments, negotiating reasonable and mutually beneficial terms with strategic partners Drive thinking on key business metrics for partnerships, taking responsibility for mobilizing partners and internal resources to execute to meet objectives Represent partners with internal organizations, including communication of partner needs, performance results and upcoming plans to team members and executive leadership Prepare strategy documents, quarterly business reviews, and executive presentations Skills and Qualifications BA/BS required; MBA preferred 3 to 5 years of experience managing people and/or teams in business development or partnerships 8 to 10
years of experience in business development, content acquisition, account management, or digital content distribution at a studio, network, or digital platform Ability to deal with ambiguity, solve complex problems, and navigate large, global organizations Strong analytical and critical thinking skills Passionate about games, technology and new media trends Self-motivated, assertive, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Mastery of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are a must
Salary Range:
$200K -- $250K
Minimum Qualification
Business DevelopmentEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
